Items used in video
Timbermate wood filler - (Note you can get this in natural, white or other matching wood such as oak or pine to speed the blending of the repair - I like to keep natural, oak, pine and walnut on hand to cover most repairs)

Переглядів 3 тис.4 місяці тому
I was asked about my Little Giant Sentinel ladder and realized I have had it for over 2 years and never shared a long term review! This 12' ladder is also a work platform with the extra wide top steps and work tray. Overall I have been very pleased, check out the video and let me know if you have any questions.

Can't you just do 2 passes, once for scoring, and once for cutting? What kind of finish does that give you?

I would assume so. I looked into something similar years ago when I did safety in a factory. It was pricey

Can you give some tips for a 45 degree cut with the tsv? The scoring blade depth and position are different from a 90 degree cut and I cannot get a good alignment on the corners.

But it won't open up like a regular 45 will over time with seasonal movement, there is a difference

6:55 "... the hardware is generally very expensive.....and just not needed" And the DF700 is a cheaper route? Alternative route but not a comparison in costs unless you were install a gazillion shelves or justify the $1,700+ for other reasons. Looks good and yes, I am a Festool junkie. Nice to see a father/son combo in woodworking....or anything else. JimE

I do point out that the same concept could be pulled off with a simple drill guide and dowel, it's just easier and faster to use the domino for sure.

Amazing van. Only thing I would advise is to make some covers places where you see the outer skin of the van from the inside. It doesn't take a large object falling behind there to make a big dent in the skin which would look bad on such a nice van.

I was between this and the castle. I got lucky and found an old Porter cable 552 for under $200. I prefer the routed pocket hole and lower angle. This seems like a great machine but I’m not too fond of how much shifting I get when using my old K4 on smaller projects. I imagine it’s the same with the foreman.

You started out stating how important it is nailing the molding on the studs, then you put the splice between studs. The double out on top of the studs is low enough to use. Glad you be leave in coping inside corners. I am a retired carpenter of forty years. I was taught to, first, build a miter box. I hand drove my nails for many years. When using a miter saw, I always cut flat, even in odd angled corners. I always left that bottom tab on. Leaving it on, will make others thank that it is a mitered corner. Glad you take pride in your work. Most carpenters now days miter all joints. Time is more important to them, than quality.

How do you manage random screws/fittings etc from your pockets etc? Do you sort them immediately, or have a place to put them ; and then sort this place once every so often? This particular issue is the bane of my life. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks for the van tour, this will help loads of people.
